The budget for the National Carnival Commission’s “Taste of Carnival” has not been set or approved.
The response from Minister of Tourism, Culture and the Arts, Randall Minister to media reports on the cost of hosting the carnival events.
in a joint meeting with the NCC this afternoon, it was confirmed that the NCC will meet with its stakeholders within the next 48 hours, following which a budget will be determined for ” a taste of carnival.”
The NCC has assured that government monies will go to those involved in the industry.
15 % of the budget is expected to go to infrastructue while 50% of monies will go to interest groups.
Minister Mitchell said the NCC must assure all that what they are doing is within the public health regulations.
