Tax And NIS Amnesty Extended

The Tax Amnesty and National Insurance Amnesty have been extended to January 31st, 2025.

A release from the Ministry of Finance on Thursday said the necessary Orders to extend the deadline will be published by Friday and be retroactive to December 31st, 2024.

The public is reminded that the extended Tax Amnesty covers penalties and interest in relation to the following unpaid taxes for previous years and the year of income ending December 31st, 2023.

Pay-As-You Earn (PAYE), Value Added Tax (VAT), and Health Surcharge are among the taxes under the amnesty.

The extended Amnesty also covers penalties and interest for unpaid Property Taxes for 2024, which are now due and payable on or before January 31st, 2025.

The NIS Amnesty applies only to employers registered with the National Insurance Board prior to October 1st, 2024.
