THA Hosts Remembrance Day Parade

Trinidad and Tobago’s military veterans who served in World Wars I and II were honoured during the Tobago House of Assembly’s Annual Remembrance Day Parade and Wreath-Laying Ceremony on Sunday.

The one-hour long event began with a parade through the streets of Scarborough which included several arms of the Protective Services. On arrival at the APT James Memorial Park in Scarborough, ten wreaths were laid in remembrance of those who served or died in the line of duty.

In what was his maiden Remembrance Day Ceremony, Chief Secretary Farley Augustine laid the first wreath, followed by representatives of arms of the Protective Services and others involved in Sunday’s parade.

For another year, surviving veteran, Les Coteaux resident Iman Legall, was part of the proceedings. He served in World War II in the Third Battalion B Company and retired in 1948.
