The 2024 Tobago Heritage Festival kicked off on Thursday with a spirit of gratitude as a Thanksgiving Service was held at the Scarborough Roman Catholic Church.
Tobago Festivals Commission Chairman, Cindy-Lou Edwards, stressed Tobago can give thanks for the 36 years of the staging of the Tobago Heritage Festival.
Like many of the religious leaders who spoke at the Thanksgiving, Secretary Tashia Grace Burris said during this Heritage period, Tobago must reflect on being spared the effects of Hurricane Beryl. She said this year’s theme “We Come Back” should have true meaning for Tobago. Secretary Burris encouraged persons to support the communities that are making their debut in the Festival.
Up next on the Tobago Heritage Festival calendar is a fringe event themed “Tobago Fireside” to be held on Saturday.
