Medical Director of Secondary Care Services at the South West Regional Health Authority, Dr. Robin Sinanan, said from his observation on the ground, COVID-19 patients are coming into the emergency department requiring immediate oxygen therapy. He said patients are waiting too long to come into the hospital system.
Dr. Sinanan urged people to look out for COVID-19 symptoms and seek help sooner rather than later.

– Sudden Confusion
– Feeling Of Suffocation
– Severe Or Persistent Chest Pains
– Drowsiness
– Severe Weakness

Mr. Keston Joseph – Disaster Coordinator at the SWRHA, said arrangements have been made to escalate the response to COVID-19. They include activating an Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) and utilising WhatsApp Group chats with key stakeholders in the hospital system as a virtual EOC.
