Thousands Attend Cocoa Panyol Parang Festival

Another instalment of the Cocoa Panyol Parang Festival was held on Sunday in the hills of Lopinot.

It was the third year of the festival which saw droves of visitors from every corner of the country descend upon the community to enjoy the festive melodies of parang music from their favourite singers and bands.

No stranger to parang himself, MP for Lopinot/Bon Air West, Marvin Gonzales, was present at the event.

“We have thousands of people celebrating the Third Annual Lopinot Cocoa Panyol Parang Festival. The event is actually growing in numbers. It started three years ago where we had over a thousand people. Today, I am being told we have close to two thousand, five hundred people with hundreds of more coming into the valley. So, the Government continues to show its commitment to building culture in many communities all over Trinidad and Tobago and restoring this Annual Lopinot Parang event.”
