Trinbago Knight Riders are the first-ever Women’s Caribbean Premier League Champions after beating the Barbados Royals by 10 runs.
In a replay of the opening match, the TKR Women, led by Captain Deandra Dottin’s 59 from 62 balls, posted 100 for the loss of seven wickets in their 20 overs.
Hayley Matthews had best figures of three for 22 for the Barbados Royals who earned their spot last evening with a four-wicket win over Guyana Amazon Warriors.
Matthews returned with the bat to top-score with 46 – she was the only Royals batter to reach double figures and left the middle with her team on 89 for 9.
TKR’s Anisa Mohammed took 3 for 16, Sonay Loose took 2 for 17 and along with Sheneta Grimmond and Hayley Jenson facilitated the constant stream of Barbados wickets.
