A Commissioner on the National Carnival Commission (NCC) Board agrees that the organisation should have more involvement in the Tobago Carnival but says the Tobago product should not be knocked since it is just two years old.
Commissioner Beverley Ramsey-Moore in a telephone interview with TTT News on Monday said while she would like to see the NCC and the Tobago House of Assembly (THA) having more discussions, she does not think it is something that must be rushed.
However, she noted that the cooperation would definitely enhance the Tobago Carnival product over time.
At the end of the Tobago Carnival on Sunday, the Chairman of the NCC, Winston ‘Gypsy’ Peters, said Tobago Carnival has the potential to be better that all of the other Carnivals in the Caribbean. However, he criticised the Tobago House of Assembly over the lack of input from the NCC.
