While steelpan activities are underway in Trinidad, Tobago’s pan event has been cancelled.
President of Pan Trinbago, Beverley Ramsey-Moore, told TTT News that while Carnival 2022 was postponed for Tobago, the event is a national one and as bands are registered under Pan Trinbago, a Tobago event was being planned.
The Pan Trinbago President said through a telephone conversation that she suggested to the Secretary the use of Shaw Park Complex to host the Tobago event. She noted that she has been in communication with Pan Trinbago Tobago Chairman Salisha James on Tobago’s involvement moving forward.
Mrs. Ramsey-Moore added that discussions are taking place to have three of the Tobago bands perform at Pan Trinbago’s shows as guest performers.
TTT News reached out to Secretary for Tourism, Antiquities, Culture and Transportation, Tashia Grace-Burris, on the matter, but all calls were unanswered. Meanwhile, Assistant Secretary Megan Morrison said she did not have information on the situation.
