One student of Signal Hill Secondary is in police custody and another nursing chop wounds after an altercation at the school’s compound on Thursday.
According to Assistant Commissioner of Police William Nurse, the incident, which involved two Form 3 students, occurred around 10:40am.
He said they are investigating how the teenaged boy was able to bring the weapon on to the school compound. Responding to the incident, the Division of Education Research and Technology condemned the actions of the students. The Secretary and Assistant Secretary pledged to address the increase in cases of violence at Tobago schools.
