Top Cop: Police Officers Contracting COVID-19 By Engaging With Public

The Acting Police Commissioner Mc Donald Jacob says heavy contact with people going against the law is working to make his officers fall ill with COVID-19.

In a conversation with the Top Cop this morning, he says the nature of the job, where police must engage wrongdoers physically, increases the chances of officers catching the dreaded virus. He says compounded with this is criticism from the wider society on how they are performing their work.

Mr. Jacob revealed some of the plans for the New Year in terms of policing including more training for police and better organisation of police stations. The Commissioner promised to reveal more about the police agenda for 2022 in his Media Conference next week.
