A 33 year old farmer was shot dead during an attempted robbery at his Tortuga home on Tuesday.
Gunmen reportedly stormed the family’s Cocoyac Trace home just after noon and demanded cash and jewellery from a relative. The three men then searched the house where Ganesh Deopersad was said to be asleep in a room. He was shot multiple times about the body.
Mr. Deopersad, who was a mechanical engineer, chose gardening as a profession and spent the entire morning in the garden.
His cousin said the normally peaceful village of Tortuga has been rocked by the latest incident.
