Traffic Disruption In Western Trinidad Due To WASA Repairs In Cocorite

Traffic disruptions are ongoing today as the Water and Sewage Authority (WASA) continues work on a ruptured 21-inch diameter transmission pipe along the Western Main Road, Cocorite.

WASA’s Corporate Communications Manager, Gregory Roxborough, said complications were encountered on Wednesday when excavation was done at the site. It was discovered that two T&TEC high-voltage underground cables were in the area, and expert help from the electricity company was needed to deal with this.

Mr. Roxborough noted that both utility companies are working together at this time and the new deadline for completion is at the end of the work day today.
