Two men and a woman have been charged with gang and human trafficking, and were each granted $500,000 bail when they appeared before an Arima Magistrate on Wednesday.
According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), 49 year old Rod Willis, 21 year old Nathaly Gomez Leandres, both of Tacarigua, and 45 year old Atiba Richards of Chaguanas, were each charged with two counts of being a gang leader and one count each of trafficking in children.
Leandres and Richards were also charged with inciting a child to become a prostitute and facilitating child prostitution, while Richards faced an additional charge sexual penetration of a child.
The accused were among five people arrested by a team of officers in the Arima district on Saturday.
