This country’s Women’s footballers got their CONCACAF World Cup Qualifier off to a positive start with a 2-1 victory over Nicaragua.
Playing before a small but receptive crowd at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, the Women Warriors took a deserved lead in the 11th minute through midfielder Asha James.
Despite being a woman down, Captain Karyn “Baby” Forbes doubled their lead in the 64th.
Nicaragua grabbed a later goal in extra time but T&T already had the match wrapped up by this time, coming away with the win 2-1.
