The Trinidad and Tobago bobsleigh team of pilot Axel Browne and wheelman Shakeel John created history last evening when they won this country’s first ever medal in the discipline..
On Saturday, the two man bobsled team were the fastest starters at the North American Cup and finished fourth in both races on Friday and Saturday to finish in one of six medal positions.
Next up for Team TTO is four man bobsleigh on Tuesday and Wednesday Brown, John, Xaverri Williams and Adam Hames will represent the red, white and black on the ice.
In February, Brown, John and Andre Marcano were part of T&T’s return to the Winter Olympics after a 20-year absence.
T&T first competed in bobsled at the Lillehammer Games in Norway in 1994.
