This country ended Day One of the 49th edition of the CARIFTA Games in Jamaica with two Gold, two Silver, and four Bronze medals.
The first of the two Gold Medals came in the Boys Under-17 1500 Metres when Keran Sriskandarajah took top spot in four minutes 10.58 seconds.
Aaron Antoine then jumped to Gold in the Boys Under-20 High Jump, clearing the bar at 2.16 Metres for victory.
T&T’s first medal on the day came from Tinique Vincent in the Girls Under-17 High Jump as she cleared the bar 1.65 Metres to earn a precious Silver.
Anthony Diaz was the runner-up in the Boys Under-20 Javelin, throwing the spear a distance of 63.69 metres for his medal.
Andrew Steele also copped Silver in the Boys Under-17 Long Jump while Kaylieh Forde took Silver in the Girls Under-17 1500 Metres.
Our Bronze medals were earned by Jaden James in the Boys Under-20 discus, Troy Llanos in the Boys Under-20 1500, Kaiyin Morris in the Boys Under-17 400, and Shaniqua Bascombe in the Girls Under-20 100 Metres.
