Trinidad and Tobago’s economy grew by $5.57 billion over two successive quarters last year, from $38 billion to $44 billion.
The statistics were released by the Central Statistical Office (CSO) in a statement on Sunday.
The CSO says the quarterly constant price Gross Domestic Product increased by 8.9% in the 3rd quarter of 2021.
The CSO notes the quarterly current price GDP increased significantly by $5,577 million or 14.3%, from $38,987 million dollars in 2nd quarter 2021 to TT$44,65 million in the 3rd quarter of 2021.
The Energy Sector accounted for 29.9% of Constant Price GDP in 3rd Quarter 2021 while the Manufacturing Sector accounted for 18.2% of Constant Price GDP in 3rd Quarter 2021.
The Construction Sector accounted for 8.3% of Constant Price GDP in 3rd Quarter 2021 and the Manufacturing Sector accounted for 21.3% of Constant Price GDP in 3rd Quarter 2021.
