The T&T Red Force succumbed to the Barbados Pride’s nagging pressure on Day 3 at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba.
Beginning the day on 51 for 3, Yannick Cariah and Joshua Da Silva showed some fight for the sixth wicket partnership. Kraig Brathwaite’s bowlers were spot on, always asking the batsmen questions. When Da Silva was caught off the bowling of Akeem Jordon, that started the downward spiral of wickets. Cariah ran out of partners as the last five wickets fell for just 33 runs crashing from 106 for 6 to 139 all out. Cariah remained not on 35.
The experienced Roston Chase was clinical taking 3 for 26, Justin Greaves grabbing 3 for 27 and pacer Akeem Jordan 3 for 32. The Red Force falling to defeat by an innings and 22 runs with one day and a session to spare. The last encounter will be a Herculean task against the Guyana Harpy Eagles next Wednesday at the Queen’s Park Oval.
