T&T To Face Guadeloupe For Gold Cup Qualifiers

This country’s journey to the Concacaf Gold Cup continues against Guadeloupe in round one of the 12-team preliminary tournament in mid-June.

T&T is two wins away from Gold Cup qualification. The senior men’s national side’s opening meeting against Guadeloupe is scheduled for June 16th or 17th at the DRV PNK Stadium in Fort Lauderdale.

Guadelopue is the highest ranked of the unseeded teams in the prelims.

T&T meet the French department for the eighth time since 1966.

In the previous seven the teams are level, with two wins each and three drawn. T&T has won two of the last five, with draws in 2007 and 2008 the latest results between the them.

With a win the senior men will play either Guyana or Grenada for a spot in Group D where Canada, Guatemala and Cuba wait.

The 2023 gold Cup runs from June 24th to July 4th.
