Trinidad and Tobago finished just short of automatic qualification for the Concacaf Women’s U-20 Championship after falling to their first defeat in the qualifying tournament.
Level on points with Puerto Rico, T&T couldn’t stop the rampant group leaders.
A brace a piece from Kennedy Garcia and Enasia Colon and another from Ashley MacMahon sent Puerto Rico through. With the win, Puerto Rico finished the group on 9 points, T&T on 6, Guadeloupe was third with 6, and Cayman Islands finished bottom with no points after three straight defeats.
Only the six Group winners will advance to the Concacaf Under-20 Women’s Championship, joining Mexico and the United States in the tournament from May 24th to June 3rd.
