T&TEC Working To Restore Power Supply After Outage

The cause of today’s power outage which occurred at 12:50pm on Wednesday is still unknown, but the Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission (T&TEC) says their engineers are working to have the issue resolved soon.

Residents in Freeport, Corinth, Couva, Port of Spain, Diego Martin, Fyzabad, Aripo, North Oropouche, and Trincity have joined many others in reporting loss of electricity and, in some instances, loss of pipe-borne water.

Corporate Communications Manager at T&TEC, Annabelle Brasnell, says the disturbance has disrupted supply in Trinidad. She said Independent Power Producers are working to restore the power within the shortest possible time.

Customers can contact 794-4823, 794-7264, or 800-8832 and 800-2852 for more information. Persons can also visit T&TEC’s social media pages for updates for more information.

The Commission apologised for the inconvenience caused.
