TTMA President Cautions RIC On Proposed T&TEC Rate Hike

Newly-elected President of the Trinidad and Tobago Manufacturers’ Association, Roger Roach, is cautioning the Regulated Industries Commission (RIC) on the proposed T&T Electricity Commission rate hike.

Mr. Roach was speaking during the organisation’s Annual General Meeting on Tuesday. He said the macro economic impact of a rate hike by T&TEC would be devastating to the country.

Mr. Roach added with the already high cost of food, stagnant salaries, the increases in gas prices and other local challenges, the proposed increase should be reconsidered.

Mr. Roach was quoting figures from an impact analysis done by an international accounting firm commissioned by the TTMA to look at the proposed RIC T&TEC rate hike.
