Trinidad and Tobago Senior National Midfielder Asha James has gone pro after signing with Portugal top-tier campaigners Valadares Gaia FC.
James is the second Trinidad and Tobago international to be signed by the Campeonato Nacional Feminino side which also secured Chelsi Jadoo’s services in February 2022.
Valadares Gaia are currently seventh on 11 points in the league – 19 points behind leaders Benfica.
The 22 year old signed for them from West Texas A&M. She was named the Lone Star Conference’s Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week twice this season in October and November 2022, and will have her sights set on continuing to build her reputation in Europe.
