No progress has been made regarding plans to construct a new Scarborough Secondary School in Tobago. This, according to Trinidad and Tobago Unified Teachers Association Tobago Officer, Bradon Roberts.
Earlier this week, the Division of Education convened a consultation following the call by the school’s Alumni Association. Speaking with TTT on Friday, Mr. Roberts described the meetings as all political.
Scarborough Secondary is the only school on the island which remained closed this week because of incomplete infrastructural works. The school’s Sixth formers returned to classes as they are housed in another location. The TTUTA representative said he is concerned with the approach taken to address situations at the school.
Students of the Scarborough Secondary School are expected to return to the classrooms on Monday.
