Two Charged With Heights of Guanapo Mass Killing, Shooting

Two men jointly charged for the murders of the four Peterkin siblings will appear before an Arima Magistrate virtually on Monday.

Twenty two year old Jalani Rivers and 24 year old Jodel Noel, both from the Heights of Guanapo, were both charged on Saturday with four counts of murder, five counts of possession of a firearm,
possession of ammunition, and shooting with intent following advice received by Director of Public Prosecutions, Roger Gaspard.

On September 21st, police responded to a report of loud explosions at a home in La Retreat Extension, Heights of Guanapo, Arima.

Officers observed the bodies of nine people, all suffering from gunshot wounds. The injured were taken to hospital as they showed signs of life. However, 10 year old Faith Peterkin, 14 year old Arianna Peterkin, 17 year old Shane Peterkin, and 19 year old Tiffany Peterkin, succumbed to their injuries while being treated at hospital.
