UWI Hosts Candlelight Vigil In Observance Of World Food Day

The time for lip service has passed. This is according to Pro Vice Chancellor and Campus Principal of the University of the West Indies St. Augustine Campus, Professor Rose-Marie Belle Antoine.

Speaking during a candlelight vigil to observe World Food Day on Monday, Professor Belle Antoine said we must move forward with a plan to feed ourselves, and become more sustainable.

Meanwhile, Minister of Agriculture, Land and Fisheries, Kazim Hosein, said no one is left behind in this global fight against hunger, malnutrition, and poverty.

This year’s theme for World Food Day was “No One Left Behind.”
