Trinidad and Tobago’s Concacaf Nations League campaign began with a 2-1 defeat against the hosts at the Nicaragua National Stadium in Managua last evening.
The Senior National Men found it tough to find their rhythm and Josue Quijano opened the scoring for the Nicaraguans in the first minute of added time in the first half. T&T were back in it when Christian Reyes scored a 46th minute own goal. But Byron Bonilla had the final say, scoring in the 78th to give Nicaragua the W on Match Day 1.
In the other Group A match, the Bahamas beat St. Vincent and the Grenadines 1-0.
T&T next hosts the Bahamas at the Hasely Crawford Stadium on Monday.
