WASA To Conduct Repairs On Leaking Pipeline, Warns Of Disruption To Water Supply In North East Trinidad

The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) will begin emergency repairs works today on a leaking pipeline which has been causing water problems in areas including Sangre Grande and environs.

It said customers served by the North Oropouche Water Treatment Plant are further advised that the leak found on the 42-inch transmission pipeline off the Plant has further deteriorated.

As a result, the Plant will be stopped at 6pm today, Tuesday, in order to commence emergency repair works earlier than the scheduled date of Thursday, August 25th.

The water supply should be restored by Friday August 26th.

The plant is expected to be shutdown at 6pm until Friday at 10pm.
