The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) is advising that water production at some of its major treatment facilities are being negatively impacted by the hot and drier than usual conditions this Wet Season.
WASA says these adverse conditions have resulted in considerably below long-term average levels at three out of four major impounding reservoirs, Arena, Hollis, and Navet, as well as production deficits at the respective treatment plants.
The Authority has implemented mitigation measures including, redistribution from more resilient areas to adversely affected areas, revised water supply schedules, increased water trucking capacity, 24-hour Customer Call Centre prioritising health institutions, senior citizen homes, schools, and religious institutions.
WASA is advising customers in need of a truck-borne service to use the WASA Services Mobile App and the Customer Portal on the Authority’s website: www.wasa.gov.tt. Alternatively, customers can contact WASA’s Customer Call Centre toll free at 800-4420/26.
