Waterworks Limited has been ordered to pay $6.6 million to the Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA).
This, as WASA mounted a successful defence in the Privy Council appeal brought by the company.
The appeal sought payment of cancellation charges for purchase orders related to the supply of equipment under contracts for Water Treatment plants in Yara and Matura, which were terminated due to various issues at the project sites.
However, by a judgment dated February 18th 2025, the Privy Council dismissed Waterworks Limited’s appeal and upheld the decision of the Court of Appeal dated June 26th 2020.
