Windies Under-19 Beaten By Sri Lanka

The West Indies Under-19 team could not recover from a poor first innings batting performance and that resulted in defeat against Sri Lanka in the second Youth Test Match in Dambulla today.

Despite a valiant display of Test Match batting by Jordan Johnson, who ended unbeaten on 157, the West Indies could only manage 277 all-out in their second turn at the crease, adding just 16 to the overnight total as tail-enders Tamarie Redwood and Deshawn James were run out for 2 and duck respectively to leave Johnson the last batter standing.

Chasing 79 for victory, Sri Lanka got to the target in 18.4 overs, losing three wickets to register a 7-wicket win which secured them the two match series 1-0.

Jordan Johnson was named Player of the Series. He had scores of 149, 52, and 157 not out in the Youth Test.
