Resuming the day on 97 for 7, all rounder Jason Holder showed fight and grit with a gutsy 54 not out. His innings included 6 fours and 1 six.
Number eleven batter Shamar Joseph, batted fearlessly and offered some late order resistance, with a rapid 25 of 27 balls. However, the Windies will fall short, closing their first innings on 144 all out. Wiaan Mulder bagged 4 for 32 for the Proteas. In their second innings, South Africa, recovered from the first innings mishaps, getting to 79 before their first wicket went down. Aiden Markram eventually getting a top score thus far of 51. Kyle Verreyenne remains not out overnight on 50 along with Wiaan Mulder on 34.
The visitors are 223 for 5 at stumps on day two, leading the Windies by 239 runs.
