Windies Vs SA Day 3

At the end of day two of the second Test between the West Indies and South Africa, the visitors were 223 for 5 leading the Windies by 239 runs but some top class bowling kept the home team in the match.

South Africa added just 23 runs to that overnight score before being all out for 246 on day 3, as Jayden Seales starred with the ball, taking 6 wickets for 61 runs in 18.4 overs as the West Indies were set a target of 263 runs for victory.

The Windies were looking solid early in pursuit of that target and were 53 for 1 at one stage but plummeted rapidly to 104 for 6 after the lunch interval.

But a 77 run partnership for the 7th wicket between Joshua Da Silva and Gudakesh Motie revived the hopes of the fans at Providence in Guyana, which ended when Motie departed for 45…Da Silva fell soon after for 27 to leave the host in dire straits at 182 for 8.

They could not recover from that middle order collapse and were all out for 222 as South Africa won by 40 runs and took the Test series 1-nil.
