Windies Win UAE Series

The West Indies men glazed their One Day International Series against the United Arab Emirates with a four-wicket win at Sharjah today.

The victory sealed a 3-nil white wash in favour of the Caribbean men as they prepare for their World Cup Qualifiers in Zimbabwe.

Batting first, the UAE could only garner 184 all out in 36.1 overs, with a top score of 70 from Vrit-ya Aravind. Off spinner Kevin Sinclair was clinical, grabbing 4 wickets for 24 runs. With Brandon King rested, Alick Athanaze, on ODI debut, took the mantle at the top and lead with an aggressive 65 from 45 balls. Shamarh Brooks and Roston Chase chipped in with 39 and 27 respectively as the Windies crossed the line in 35.1 overs, closing the innings on 185 for 6.

The attention now turns to the World Cup Qualifiers in Zimbabwe, where the Windies will take on the USA on Sunday 18th June, in their first of four Group matches.
