President Christine Kangaloo is being engaged by Government in a bid to extend the years of Service of Police Commissioner Erla Harewood-Christopher.
Confirmation came from Minister of National Security Fitzgerald Hinds who said the decision was taken by Cabinet last Thursday, May 4th 2023.
The extension in accordance with Section 75 of the Police Service Act allows the years of service upon reaching the age of retirement to be extended by one year in the first instance.
Mrs. Harewood-Christopher will turn 60 on May 15th. The extension will take her through to May 24th 2024 as Police Commissioner.
