Youth Agriculture Committee Appointed

The Youth Agricultural Homestead Programme (YAHP) will give young people between the ages of 18 and 35 years training, technical support, and the land to get involved in agriculture.

The programme, led by the Ministry of Youth Development and National Service, will be implemented in conjunction with the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, through the Land Settlement Agency (LSA).

Minister of Youth Development and National Service, Foster Cummings, said it is anticipated that the youth participants will become successful 21st Century agri-entrepreneurs.

Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Pennelope Beckles,  shared that the LSA will develop infrastructure and land at several locations including, Fyzabad, Chatham, Palo Seco, Valencia, and Gran Couva.

The Ministers were speaking at the Appointment Ceremony for the Programme Coordinating Committee of the YAHP on Monday.
