Trinidad and Tobago Olympic swimmer Zuri Ferguson continued her streak of record-breaking performances at the World Aquatics Short Course Championships in Hungary.
Ferguson, who recently broke multiple National Records in the Women’s 100-metre backstroke event, made history when she became the first female T&T national to swim the 50 metres backstroke short course in under 28 seconds. She clocked 27.83 seconds.
In doing so, Ferguson also broke the open record of 28.69 seconds set by Ornella Walker in November 2024.
